Weaving Professional Networks Among Women in Film: Participants of the Su Mirada Fund have lunch with the IWF during the 12th Edition of the IFF Panama 2024

In an exciting lunch organized by the International Women’s Forum (IWF) on Saturday, April 6, 2024, a warm exchange of personal and professional experiences took place among the national and international guests who participated in the Su Mirada Fund at the film festival, presenting their projects and films.

The International Women’s Forum, launched in New York City in 1974, emerged at a crucial moment when the first generation of women leaders was breaking barriers across various professional sectors, from finance to the fine arts. The Forum’s founders lacked access to ‘the old boys’ network,’ so a new network of women was born to provide professional and personal support, foster each member’s success, and inspire the women who would follow them.

In a world where support among women is more important than ever, the International Women’s Forum continues to be a beacon of female empowerment and inclusive leadership. In this context, this networking event with the participants of the Su Mirada Fund during the IFF Panama significantly contributed to further weaving professional networks among women, which can drive women-led filmmaking in our region.

IFF Panama wishes to express its sincerest gratitude to the members of the International Women’s Forum Panama for their support and dedication in making this special exchange with the participants of Su Mirada possible. Their commitment to promoting gender equity in all areas is an inspiring example for the entire film community in Panama, Central America, and the Caribbean.

All the finalists of the Su Mirada Fund received a gift from the International Women’s Forum Panama.
