The IFF Panama Foundation, in its ongoing commitment to the film industry of Central America and the Caribbean and gender equity, is launching the fourth edition of the Su Mirada Fund.

Su Mirada aims to balance women’s participation in the region’s film industry through a cash fund that supports both established and emerging women filmmakers (who have directed at least one short film).

In the 3rd edition of Su Mirada – the 12th edition of the festival – the film Querido Trópico, directed by Panamanian filmmaker Ana Endara, was the winner in the post-production category. The film premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and has toured several international festivals, which fills us with pride. Among its accolades are the Audience Award and Best Performance Award, given to actresses Paulina García and Jenny Navarrete at the Biarritz Latin American Film Festival. At IFF Panama, we are thrilled and honored to be part of the challenging and powerful journey of films like those participating in this fund.
