Sinópsis: EL CANTO DE LAS MANOS explora la sordera a través de la música, siguiendo a Jennifer, Gabriel y José, tres músicos sordos de Venezuela, mientras afrontan el reto de llevar a escena, por primera vez en lengua de signos, Fidelio de Beethoven, bajo la batuta de Gustavo Dudamel.La película muestra el aislamiento que los protagonistas experimentan dentro de sus propias familias y la discriminación social por su condición auditiva, comprendiendo que la música no solo es su refugio, sino su salvación y su esperanza.
Un viaje extraordinario que sigue los preparativos de las audiciones y el proceso creativo de Fidelio, hasta su estreno en Caracas. No solo es la primera vez que Fidelio se representa en lengua de signos, sino también el momento en que los protagonistas debutan como actores y solistas, ofreciéndoles la oportunidad de convertirse en referentes dentro de su comunidad.

Synopsis: “El canto de las manos” explores deafness through music, following Jennifer, Gabriel and José, three Deaf musicians from Venezuela, as they face the challenge of staging Beethoven’s Fidelio in sign language for the first time under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. The film portrays the isolation the protagonists experience within their own families and the social discrimination they face due to their hearing condition, revealing that music is not only their refuge, but also their salvation and their hope.
An extraordinary journey that follows the audition preparations and the creative process of Fidelio, leading up to its premiere in Caracas. It is not only the first time that Fidelio is performed in sign language, but also the moment when the protagonists make their debut as actors and soloists, giving them the opportunity to become role models within their community.
